The Eternal Road

Jussi Ketola is fetched from his home at midnight and taken to the border between Finland and the Soviet Union. At the border the abductors decide to shoot him, but he slips out and runs across the border to the Soviet side. The State Police of the USSR, gives Ketola a new identity and a job at a collective farm of American immigrants, who have come to the USSR voluntarily. Together, they build a worker’s paradise. Yet, when Stalin’s purges begin, paradise turns into hell.
